In 2002, Dr. Antonio Galoforo brought this therapy to Africa and has gone there on multiple occasions since to provide ozone therapy and to train local staff. He founded and is the president of the non-profit O3 for Africa, the goal of which is to promote a highly innovative project to treat Buruli ulcers, care for the environment, and provide drinking water.
